Hydrafacial: The revolutionary concept and treatment that is “Hydradermabrasion”
- Posted on: Sep 9 2019
Glowing skin is always in! We believe that wholeheartedly here at MediSpa and that’s why we’re talking about hydradermabrasion today, more popularly known as the cult classic, the “Hydrafacial”. Hydradermabrasion, in essence, is a safe and painless treatment that combines the simultaneous dermal infusion of medicinal products and crystal-free exfoliation to correct skin and maintain its best texture and tone.
The difference between the traditional dermabrasion and hydradermabrasion, is the traditional dermabrasion would typically blast the skin with harsher exfoliating grit, also unable to offer hydration simultaneously. Hydradermabrasion gently vacuums out pores while simultaneously pushing in potent actives, which moisturize, brighten, plump, and protect. Beyond the standard steps, Hydrafacials offer targeted add-ons, or boosters, which aim at unique skin concerns, like brown spots or wrinkles.
After performing a study on the efficacy of hydradermabrasion for facial rejuvenation, the Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology concluded that hydradermabraded skin possessed increased epidermal and papillary dermal thickness as well as greater antioxidant levels. They also noted a replacement of elastic dermal tissue, collagen hyalinization, and fibroblast density correlating with a decrease in the appearance of fine lines, pore size, and hyperpigmentation in hydradermabrasion treated areas 6 weeks post-treatment with no patient complications.
The procedure is so gentle and effective, it’s suggested to start with one Hydrafacial every 2 weeks followed by a maintenance regimen of once a month. The treatment is great for patients with pimples, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation; and for older patients with sun damage.
The gentle nature of the Hydrafacial might be why our patients love it the most! Hydradermabrasion can quickly improve texture, tone, and help skin conditions like acne, without any residual irritation or peeling. You can even perform a Hydrafacial in conjunction with injectables and non-ablative light and laser treatments. That way, you can leave entirely taken care of! So what do you say? Give us a call and let’s set a date for your beautiful new glow!
